The Ashland Chamber Music Workshop offers you a week of intensive chamber music rehearsing, coaching and performing. The music library is one of the most outstanding anywhere, the renowned coaching staff are friendly and dedicated. Know for the world-class Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Ashland is an artistically vibrant community–a spectacular place to vacation.

If you are arriving at the Rogue Valley International Airport, click here for shuttle information to Ashland. You want to be dropped of at the SOU campus at Cox Hall.
If you are staying on campus, when you arrive on Sunday go to the McLoughlin Hall and dining facility The Hawk. You should park in the McLoughin Hall parking lot. The Housing Staff will be there to check you in from 3—5PM. There you will get your room assignment, key, parking permit (if you purchased one) and meal card. Sunday dinner is included. If you arrive after the check-in time there will be a posting of room numbers and you can find your keys in your unlocked room. After you have checked in to your room go to the Music Building for registration.
From 3PM until 5PM you may arrive at the Music Building and complete your workshop registration. You may reserve a locker at that time. After you registered, have dinner and return for the Sunday general session meeting. If you are late arriving please give us a call at 541.708.1214 to let us know when you'll arrive.
The general session meeting in the Music Recital Hall on Sunday evening at 7:00PM. At the meeting we will review workshop procedures, introduce the staff and answer questions. There will be a chamber orchestra reading on stage following the meeting. After the reading the library will be open for you to freelance, check out lockers, or finish your registration (please try do this BEFORE 7PM meeting). The chamber orchestra is a chance to get acquainted and play music you will not perform during the week.

Participants are given a different music assignment each day. Instrumentation and personnel are varied as much as possible. The coaching staff is comprised of musicians from throughout the United States who are talented chamber music performers and experienced chamber music teachers.
Each group is coached throughout the day and presents a short (5 minute) performance, sharing the music with others.
Evenings are free for "freelancing," using personal music or that of our extensive library; or for enjoying the famous Oregon Shakespeare Festival, other theater, live music, art galleries, or shopping.
