Jamie Peck has worked with masks and in theater for over 20 years. He has been an actor with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival for 19 seasons. In the 2009 season, Jamie was seen in three productions: Macbeth as “Duncan”, Much Ado About Nothing as “Hue Oatcake” and Don Quixote as “Rocinante”, performing in a horse mask he created. He has worked at Berkeley Repertory Theater, Oregon Cabaret Theater, Imago Theater Mask Ensemble, and Shakespeare Santa Cruz. In 2003 he founded Nutshell Masks and Theater and is its artistic director. Nutshell created a mask-dance show, Carnival of the Animals, for the Rogue Valley Symphony. It has also been performed at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival Green Show and Oregon Stageworks, and toured to the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic and the Eugene Symphony. Directing and teaching credits include Southern Oregon University and Ashland High School. Jamie holds a BS in theatre from Northwestern University. He studied mime in San Francisco with the Houle-Wibaux Mime troupe, masks and mythology at the Del’ Arte School in Blue Lake, California, and mask dance and carving in Bali, Indonesia.
