Kelsy Ausland

Kelsy leads land development and engineering endeavors while overseeing the daily operations of Ausland Group. She is licensed to practice engineering in Oregon and California and is a LEED-Green Associate.

Kelsy graduated with Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University. Kelsy also studied environmental engineering at the University of Nottingham in Great Britain, and Spanish in Ecuador.  She was distinguished by her alma mater with the 2010 Oregon Stater Award for “Outstanding Early Career Achievement.”

Kelsy enjoys volunteering for many local community non-profits, including Britt Festivals, where she is on the board of directors.

Fun Fact: Kelsy likes to spend weekends at her cabin exploring remote parts of the Rogue River and Illinois River Wilderness.

Cristina Sanz

Cristina Sanz is honored to serve the community members of Southern Oregon and support the Foundation’s work for all of Oregon.  As a philanthropic advisor, Cristina assists individuals, families and businesses who are interested in exploring ways to be involved with OCF – from establishing a charitable fund to making charitable giving as effective and meaningful as possible.    

Cristina’s involvement with OCF began as a volunteer on the advisory committee of the Reed and Carolee Walker Fund bringing her experience as a family and juvenile attorney to the committee.  Because of this volunteer experience, Cristina pursued a career in philanthropy and has served the Foundation, its donors and volunteers since 2006.  In her spare time, Cristina dabbles in small art projects. She enjoys the Southern Oregon climate and is an avid walker.

Speaker: Fred Mossler

Fred Mossler has spent his career engrossed in customer service and focused on building company culture.  Mr. Mossler began his career at Nordstrom, the service industry leading fashion retailer.  In 1999, Mr. Mossler joined the then start-up to build out the retail side of the company.  Over the next decade, achieved over $1B in Gross Merchandise Sales while also making Fortune’s list of Best Companies to Work For.  Mr. Mossler was integral in Amazon’s $1.2 billion acquisition of Zappos in 2009. 

 In addition to Mr. Mossler’s retail career, he assisted with the launch and building of Downtown Project, a company dedicated to helping revitalize part of downtown Las Vegas through investment in small businesses; tech startups; real estate; and arts, culture, and education. Mr. Mossler founded Honus Capital LLC, a hands-on investment fund for Las Vegas-area entrepreneurs. He also co-founded the popular Mexican restaurant chain Nacho Daddy. 

Mr. Mossler graduated from Southern Oregon University with a B.S. in Business. He currently serves on the Board of Downtown Project and on the Finance Committee for the Two Ten Foundation. He lives in Las Vegas with his wife and four sons.

Topic:  How the Chamber of Commerce helps local businessesMs. Slattery has been the Executive Director of the Ashland Chamber of Commerce for 30 years. In that role, she has created innovative projects that have been used as models for other cities looking to develop tourism programs, business development projects and cooperative community relationships. She has received numerous awards for her community involvement and has served on a variety of boards, including the SOU Regional Advisory Board, the SOU Foundation, and the Ashland Community Hospital Foundation.

Dee Anne Everson
Executive Director, United Way
About United Way

Dee Anne Everson is the executive director of United Way of Jackson County, having been appointed in November 1997. Under her leadership, United Way launched the Day of Caring, WiLL (Women Living Leadership), the Meth Task Force, CAN (Child Abuse Network) and more recently the BIG IDEA, a project focused on 100 percent high school completion for the Class of 2020.

She is past president of the Association of United Ways of Oregon and is a graduate of Stanford University’s Nonprofit Leaders Program. Dee Anne serves on numerous committees and boards. Dee Anne spent 13 years in the corporate financial sector. Making the switch to nonprofits, she became the economist at the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce in 1990 and has been recognized by Oregon Business Magazine as one of Oregon’s 50 great leaders. She was recognized by the American Red Cross as a Community Hero and was awarded the Citizen Peacemaker Imagine Award. She regularly lectures on leadership and the nonprofit sector.

A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dee Anne grew up in Arizona and relocated to the northwest in 1990. She began volunteering in the 7th grade and it’s been a passion since. She lives in Ashland, Oregon.


Robert MacLellan Presentation

Robert MacLellan, Founder of Pacific Coast Restaurants in Portland and former co-owner of Wendy’s in Southern Oregon, will speak on why Pacific Coast Restaurants was so successful.  Robert, who graduated from the Harvard Graduate School of Business and was a multi-unit franchise operator of Blockbuster Video stores through the West, now serves as an active board member for the Bear Creek Greenway Foundation, and member of the St Mary’s Board.  In addition, Mr. MacLellan has served on the Southern Oregon University Foundation for 11 years, president for the last three years. 


Volodymyr Dankiv

International Business Discussion

Dr. Volodymyr Dankiv is the 2014-15 Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon.  He maintains an academic teaching load that includes instruction in business administration; and he networks with organizations, academic institutions, and businesses as part of his Fulbright grant duties.

Dr. Dankiv holds degrees from Uzhhorod National University, Ukraine, including a Ph.D. in Economics as well as degrees in Finance and Law.  His academic focus as an Associate Professor at Uzhhorod National University is risk assessment and management; and his current research interest lies in the areas of retail credit risk management, operational risk management, and the role of human factors in risk mitigation.

His industry experience includes positions in retail credit risk management, e-business global intranet redesign, tariff classification and valuation, tax auditing, and research.  In addition to his work and academics in the Ukraine, Dr. Dankiv has worked in the United Kingdom.



Jamie Schectman

Jamie Schectman is a lifelong ski bum and serial entrepreneur. He is the CEO and Co-founder of Mountain Rider’s Alliance, an organization designed to assist independent, community focused “at risk” ski areas innovate to remain sustainable. Originally from Lake Tahoe, he currently serves as the Director of Sales and Marketing for Mt. Ashland and is a board member for Incorporate Olympic Valley, a grassroots movement designed to create California’s next town.
