The Commencement ceremony will be held rain or shine! Please advise your guests that they are often exposed to direct sun for the duration of the ceremony and remind them to plan for unpredictable spring weather. Check the local forecast frequently in the days prior to commencement for up-to-date weather information.
The University makes every effort to ensure your safety and security. A first-aid station will be located adjacent to the grandstands. Please remember to wear appropriate attire (heels are not recommended) and bring water to avoid dehydration. Children should be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Loud noisemakers and airhorns are not permitted to be used during Commencement. These items disrupt the ability of students and guests to hear all program information and the reading of student names.
Alcoholic beverages are prohibited at Commencement. Individuals in possession of alcoholic beverages during commencement will have these beverages confiscated. Anyone who shows signs of public intoxication will be asked to leave immediately.
Firearms and weapons of any kind are prohibited at any location on the SOU Campus, including Raider Stadium where our Commencement ceremony is held.
Smoking is not permitted in Raider Stadium. Please refrain from smoking during the Commencement ceremony.
Animals of any kind are not allowed in Raider Stadium (legitimate service animals are permitted, however emotional support animals are not). Please leave your pets at home. If you require accommodations for the event due to a disability, including having a service animal present, please contact Jennifer Jones-Pysyza at firstname.lastname@example.org or (541) 552-6213.
