Jim Teece, President and Chief Executive Officer of Project A

Jim Teece is president and CEO of Project A, a small Ashland based software development company that he and his wife started way back in 1990. (pre‐Internet dark ages). Project A develops custom software for government, education, small business and eCommerce. Global Big Boy ecommerce. He's a programmer that became a business person that became a dad that became a teacher that became a community leader that became a programmer. He is also president and CEO of Ashland Home Net, Ashland's Largest ISP, Cable TV and Phone Company. He also serves the community with involvement on the Ashland Chamber of Commerce Board, SOU Foundation Board and Jackson County Fair Board as well as on lots of committees splattered throughout Jackson County. He hosts the longest running TV show on RVTV, "Tech Talk" and he is a partner in award winning app development for iOS, Art Authority. Michael Smith, Business Development Manager for SOREDI

Michael is a Business Development Manager for SOREDI, and the Facilitator of the Rogue Nexus EBusiness Consortium. He has a varied career in manufacturing, quality control, business management & development, and finance. He has been actively engaged in numerous projects with the Grants Pass Chamber of Commerce and was instrumental in the revival of Concerts in the Park. Michael visits hundreds of businesses a year, helping to define their resource needs, employee requirements, and issues. Through those interaction, SOREDI gets a strong aggregate view of “What Businesses Want.”





Jessica Gomez Founder and CEO of Rogue Valley Microdevices, Inc.

Jessica Gomez is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rogue Valley Microdevices, the first Microelectronics Manufacturing Company in Southern Oregon. Jessica began her technical carrier at Standard Microsystems as a Wafer Fabrication Operator in the mid 1990s. She relocated to Southern California in 2001 to join Integrated Micromachines Inc., a telecommunications hardware startup company. While working at Integrated Micromachines, Jessica became immersed in the company’s startup culture and developed a love for entrepreneurship. She also built many relationships that would later become integral to the success of Rogue Valley Microdevices. In 2003 Jessica relocated to Southern Oregon and founded Rogue Valley Microdevices, Inc. Jessica is an active member of the community and is dedicated to supporting economic development. She holds a liberal arts degree from Suffolk Community College, is a member of the Medford Rogue Rotary Club, a founding member of the Sustainable Valley Technology Group and serves as the organization’s board president. Jessica spent this past summer traveling to Salem on a regular basis to participate on the “Job’s And Economy Team” for Governor Kitzhaber’s 10 Year Outcome’s Based Budget. Jessica is also married and is the mother of a beautiful two‐year‐old girl.

David Hand is founder and president of Data Center West in Medford and an SOU alumni.  Data Center West is a regional neutral data center serving Northern California and Southern Oregon offering an IP peering exchange located in facility, regional private cloud services, server virtualization, NetApp and EMC network attached storage, Hosted MS Exchange alternatives, Hosted PBX, Regional CND.






John Lee, CoFounder of Folium Partners

John H Lee co‐founded the mobile software house Folium Partners here in Ashland, after being part of 9 other startup companies. The general rule is that just 1 out of every 10 startups will succeed. John found himself part of Silicon Valley in 1985, managing the world’s first desktop publishing storefront operation, Byting Your Time. He developed his engineering management and technology evangelism skills with companies such as Radius (the Pivot), CoSA (After Effects), CKS|Interactive, WebTV, Microsoft, and Cisco Systems. He brings his experiences both as a software engineer and as a technologist to focus at Folium Partners, where he is responsible for day‐to‐day business activities and product planning. John Lee serves on the Board of Directors for Sustainable Valley Technology Group.



Jeff McJunkin GSEC, GPEN, GCED, GCIH, GCFA, CCNA, System Administrator for the City of Central Point

Jeff mcJunkin provides all levels of IT support for the City of Central Point at large. As the online full time IT professional with the city, Jeff consolidated physical rack infrastructure by 80% and documented install/backup/replacement of server and client software. He packaged client software for easy delivery and quick updates (esp. Flash, Java, Acrobat), scanned for and remediated 85%+ of all Nessus vulnerability reports, and replaced all inherited physical and virtual servers, desktops, laptops, switching, routing, and firewall infrastructure. He provides forensic analysis of workstations under suspicion of improper use, and root-cause analysis of every malware-infected machine.


Priscilla Oppenheimer, Consultant and Author

Priscilla Oppenheimer is an independent consultant who helps systems engineers design and implement large‐scale computer networks. After earning her master's degree in information science from the University of Michigan, Priscilla worked as a software developer at the University of Chicago, Matson Navigation and Apple Computer. Later she became a technical instructor and course developer, which gave her the opportunity to travel around the United States, Asia and Europe teaching thousands of network engineers from most of the Fortune 500 companies. Priscilla's areas of expertise include Cisco device configuration, network design, and protocol analysis. Priscilla is the author or co‐author of five books on computer networking, including the best‐selling "Top‐Down Network Design" (3rd edition, 2011, Pearson Education).




Michael Marans, President of MV Pro Audio

Michael Marans is president of MV Pro Audio and has been active in the music products industry forover 30 years. A life-long devotee of music technology, Michael has been intimately involved in the design, development, marketing, and sales of a wide array of successful technology-based music products. Before MV Pro Audio, he was a partner in Event Electronics, where he directed the company's marketing efforts, business development, and international sales. Prior to joining Event, Michael was technical editor of Keyboard magazine, authoring hundreds of articles and co-authoring several books. An avid synthesist, he has created sound libraries for a number of notable artists and composers, and consulted on instrument designs for various manufacturers.




Robert Head, Founder and CTO of ShopDragon and Coding Zeal

Robert Head is is the Founder and Chief Technology Officer of ShopDragon and Coding Zeal. Robert is a veteran eCommerce developer and former Development Manager at Amazon.com where he lead several development teams. He honed his experience developing eCommerce systems for other startup companies such as iCrew.com, Paizo.com, and N2H2.com. From this experience, Robert envisioned an eCommerce platform and network that could be used to empower small retailers to grow their business in a cooperative environment using the incremental sales power of the Internet and created ShopDragon at the end of 2007.


Tolga Latif, President and CEO of Linx Technologies

Tolga has been the president and CEO of Linx Technologies since March 2011 when Alpine Investors, a San Francisco‐based private equity firm, acquired Linx. Tolga has spent his career in senior manager roles in industry as well as an investor in privately‐held companies. Most recently, Tolga was an executive‐in‐residence at Alpine where he worked with Alpine businesses to improve efficiency and evaluate investment opportunities including Linx. Prior to Alpine, Tolga held senior positions at Danaher Corporation, a Fortune 300 diversified industrial manufacturer. At Danaher, Tolga was vice president of marketing for Imaging Sciences International, the market leader in dental CAT scanners as well as the director of sales and marketing for Gems Sensors & Control, a leading provider of sensors, control and fluidic systems for OEM applications. Tolga holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, including a bachelor of science in economics from the Wharton School and a bachelor of science in systems engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Tolga also holds two master’s degrees from Northwestern University, including an MBA from the Kellogg School of Business and a masters of engineering management from the McCormick School of Engineering.


Trever Yarrish, Partner & Co-Founder, Creative and UX Specialist at Coding Zeal

Trever Yarrish is Co-Founder of Coding Zeal, a company he describes as Digital Artisans. Trever designs and engineers web and mobile products, infusing technical and digital expertise to ensure project success.  and has much experience in branding and creating an identity. He loves the challenge of figuring out how to market a company, product or even people, and spent time developing the branding and outward identity for Dutch Bros. Coffee. Trever specializes in design and mainly uses the Adobe suite. I am also extremely versed in creating websites (HTML, CSS, Javascript). He is mostly a front-end developer, but can find his way around PHP and is versed in implementing CMS's. Through an Agile process with Lean principles and methods, we ensure everything we build is validated to meet or excede the goals set forth.
