B.A. in English, and Mult. Subjects Teaching Credential, 1982, C. S. U. Fresno; M.A. in Education (with distinction), 1993, California State University, Fresno; Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, 1998, University of Hawai‘i at Manoa. 

William is a professor and chair in the School of Education at Southern Oregon University. His current research interests include: inquiry through self-study of teacher education practices, the human potential in teaching and learning, and core reflection. Other research interests include teacher cognition, self-efficacy, and the influence of ethnicity and culture on learning. He co-founded the Teacher Education for the Future Project, an international collaboration of Pacific Circle Consortium member nations. An educator for over 30 years, Dr. Greene has taught in California, Hawaii, Oregon, and American Samoa and at various levels, including: elementary, secondary, and higher education.
