Kaye Geyler knew she wanted to offer something different than standard obedience courses, and so together with partners Carrie Brooks and Kailani Miranda she opened Go Rogue Dog Training. They offer a unique dog training experience with a social aspect, integrative group classes with a low student to instructor ratio, and private lessons. They also work with fearful or rowdy and growly dogs in regular classes to help behavior modification and socialization rather than separation. Not only do they work with adult dogs, they also offer puppy courses starting at 8 weeks. Carrie explains that this is a critical time in a puppy's development and it is crucial to socialize a dog as early as possible.
Kaye started with the SOU SBDC by attending a Smart Start Your Business workshop; she wanted to use as many free resources as possible to help her start her small business. She attended several workshops and classes, a favorite being the monthly Lunch, Learn, & Launch series, as well as working with advisor Stephanie Hoffman. Stephanie was able to help Kaye, Carrie, and Kailani get their business off the ground and growing. When asked if they would recommend the SBDC's services to others, both Kaye and Carrie responded with a resounding, "Absolutely!"
Go Rogue Dog Training is thriving! They have a new training facility in Phoenix, are offering more classes to their growing their client base, and are proud to announce a new partnership with the Southern Oregon Humane Society. Don't think it's just dogs who have all the fun, Go Rogue works with cats, too! Keep your eye out for the launch of their new "Kitten Kindergarden" coming soon.
