This three-week trip will start in the small town of Cosanga, Ecuador. Located in the cloud forest of the Oriental region, Cosanga is home to the foundation Sustainable Roots. During our week here, we will work on a collection of community projects (mingas), learn about sustainable permaculture practices and lead the local youth on adventure activities with the oversight of Sustainable Roots. Week two will be spent on the world-renowned El Condor Trek, that spans the distance between Cotopaxi and Antisana, two of the largest volcanoes in the Andean range of Ecuador. To wrap up the experience, a three-day trip will bring us to the peak of Quilotoa, hopping from mountain lodge, to hostel, to campground. In all, this trip will seek to grow you as a traveler, an adventure and a global citizen.
The trip will be 21 days long, from December 14th through January 3rd. The cost for this trip is $3,671.90 and will include all airfare and ground transportation, rental gear, food and lodging, activity instruction and in country translators. A 10% fee will be charged on 10/15/2019 and applied to the price of the trip.
Additionally, there is an interest meeting on the 30th of May in the Student Recreation Center, room R105 from 5pm - 6pm.
