Like our partners all across campus, the Office of Career Connections is committed to serving SOU students as effectively as possible while doing everything we can to keep our community safe and healthy. While campus restrictions related to COVID-19 are in place, Career Connections will provide services remotely via video conferencing, email, telephone, and Google Hangouts.
Students, we will continue to provide career coaching appointments for internships and jobs, major and career exploration, graduate school preparation, resumes and cover letters, and so on. Check out these instructions for scheduling a video or phone appointment, or to learn about other ways to get in touch.
For online resources, be sure to check out our Students and Alumni page. It has links to career assessments, industry exploration tools, application material tips, and links to job boards, including new advice on finding remote work. Rest assured, too, that new jobs and internships from across the country are still being added to Handshake on a daily basis.
Faculty and staff, Career Connections is still available to support your students through remote class presentations or video mock interviews. If you are considering adding content about career exploration, resume and cover letter development, interview preparation, or other career preparation topics essential to students’ professional success, please contact Max Brooks at email@example.com. And if you have a campus job to post for this term or beyond, don’t forget that Career Connections has partnered with SOU Human Resources to create a streamlined digital process that you can read about on the HR website.
Finally, we look forward to inviting you back to the Office of Career Connections in the Student Life suite when normal campus operations eventually resume. In the meantime, let us know how we can support you, and take good care of yourselves and others!
