ES 199 - Sustainable Food Systems: The Harvest

A field course designed for students from all majors to learn more about farming and gardening.

This hands-on farm-based course explores the basics of the food system with a specific focus on sustainability. We explore all aspects of the food system including gardening, farming, and culinary arts. The fall course focuses on harvesting and food preservation. All courses are taught at The Farm at SOU.

The course won’t have much in the way of reading or is really about growing your own food....and of course eating great food!
