Welcome, Southern Oregon University Veterans and Dependents!

VA Benefits assists Veterans and their families in helping students obtain their educational objectives. The SOU certifying official serves as a liaison between the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the University to certify enrollment and provide information on Veteran benefits.

Veterans and their dependents may be eligible to receive Educational Benefits through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or the Oregon National Guard Offices. This online information should answer your questions when coming to SOU, as well as how to apply for Educational Benefits through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

VA Benefits:

Veterans must request VA certification each term (including summer sessions). Contact the VA Benefits Certifying official for upcoming terms: 541-552-7102 or vabenefits@sou.edu. They will certify your enrollment and forward the request to the regional VA Office in Muskogee, Oklahoma for processing. The VA determines eligibility for Educational Benefits in all cases.
