This event unites women in leadership through coalition, as well as connecting to University women and members of the community, inviting all to remember and to continue on in the way of these revolutionary women. It honors the history of amazing activist women, as well as continuing in the tradition of Women's History Month, a movement to inform, rebel, inspire, celebrate, and honor.

Women's History Month was established largely by the momentum of historical questioning of the sixties. Women rebelled against the traditional texts which overwhelmingly represented women as invisible subjects. As women investigated history, they demanded recognition as historians; thus breaking into a male field of study. These efforts transformed the face of history, changing its nature to examine not just the political, as in the past, but also the sociological, economic, and the wider aspects of American life. Women's courage in this time continues today, pushing the world to broaden their views and question what is seemingly normal.
