Campus Public Safety Mission Statement:

Campus Public Safety provides a safe and secure environment for SOU students, employees and visitors to express freedom of intellectual growth and responsible global citizenship.

We support the Mission of Southern Oregon University by being dedicated to student safety, success, and responsible citizenship.   We strive to serve the Campus Community by maintaining the highest standards of work performance and interaction between the officers and the campus community. Through the use of partnerships, programs and a 24 hour seven day per week presence across campus our officers work to deliver services to meet the diverse needs of our students, faculty, staff and visitors. Part of our duties includes enforcing State laws, City ordinances, and University policies when those violations compromise safety and/or the livability of the campus community. 

     This website introduces you to the Campus Public Safety Department and it will acquaint you with safety awareness tips, thereby helping you prevent problems before they occur.  This site also provides information about what to do if problems do occur.

     The easer we make it for YOU to find the information you want or need, the better we are able to serve you.  Information is not a one way street; we encourage and rely on input and feedback from our campus community.  We welcome your ideas on how we can improve this website to make it more useful and relevant to you.
