- When will my financial aid disburse?
Your financial aid will disburse to your student account each term based on the following disbursement calendar for the school year. Any money leftover (refund) will be sent to BankMobile the next business day.
- When will I get my refund?
Refunds always go to BankMobile the next business day after aid has disbursed. Disbursement timing depends on your selected refund preference. Your choices include:
- DEPOSIT TO AN EXISITING ACCOUNT – Money is transferred to an existing account the same business day BankMobile receives funds from your school. Typically, it takes 1 – 2 business days for the receiving bank to credit the money to your account.
- DEPOSIT TO A BANKMOBILE VIBE ACCOUNT – If you open a BankMobile Vibe checking account (upon identity verification), money is deposited the same business day BankMobile receives funds from your school.
- Why hasn’t my aid disbursed?
The most common reason is a student’s enrollment status with Financial Aid does not match the amount of credits that a student is registered for. Students are automatically set up as full time (12 credits - Undergraduate or 9 credits - Graduate) If that should differ, students must notify SOU financial aid in writing (preferably email) and let them know how many credits they are registered in for the term.

- How can I pay my bill?
Students can pay online via their InsideSOU or mail in a payment to the address below. SOU does not charge any additional fees for processing payments - Visa and Master Cards can be used without penalty.

- How do I resolve registration errors?
Email the instructor of the class to input the appropriate override based on your registration error via sis web or have them sign an add slip which would be turned into the Raider Student Services in Britt Hall
Second week of the term, students will not be able to register for courses via SISweb. Classes added second week require a signature on an add/drop form or permission via email to StudentServices@sou.edu. Classes added 3rd and 4th week of the term also require Chair or Division Director permission. it is not generally permissible to add a course after the 4th week of the term.
- How do I get on a payment plan?
Students would contact the SOU Collections Department at firstname.lastname@example.org if they have carried a balance longer than 6 months
- How do I order a transcript?
To order a SOU transcript, see the instructions located at https://inside.sou.edu/enrollment/forms/transcripts.html
- Can I get Financial Aid for Summer term?
Students would need to fill out the Summer Aid Application (typically available in mid-April until June 30) to determine if there is any available financial aid left over from the year that could be used for Summer term. The Summer Aid Application typically becomes available in mid-April and is unavailable after June 30.
- How much do I owe?
Your most current balance is viewable in InsideSOU, in the Billing Account box; "Account balance".
- How can I get an enrollment verification?
You will need to log into InsideSOU

Choose Banner Self-Service (SISWeb)
Click on Student
Go to Student Records Folder
Go to Enrollment Verification Link
Click on the National Student Clearinghouse link for an immediate certificate
Alternatively, you may request an in-house verification on SOU Letterhead, which takes 24 hours to process. Follow the steps above except instead of clicking on the link for the clearinghouse, click on "Request Enrollment Verification" at the bottom.
- When are fees due?
To avoid late fees, pay by the first Friday of each term. Check the Academic Calendar for exact dates at www.sou.edu/enrollment/calendar
- I paid the minimum by the first Friday, why do I have interest and revolving charge account fee?
If you pay the minimum amount due, but not in full, you will incur interest and the revolving charge account fee on your account. This is in accordance with SOU’s billing policies.
- What is the Revolving Charge Account Plan?
If you do not pay in full by the first Friday, you will automatically be enrolled in the RCA,
If you don't pay in full by the due date, SOU automatically activates the RCA. It is not a credit card, although the terms and conditions are similar:
Space your payments. Instead of paying in full at the onset of the term, students may pay only the first third of tuition, the first third of residence hall charges, and all other charges. The remainder of the account balance must be paid by the first day of the last month of the term: December 1 for fall, March 1 for winter, and June 1 for spring.
Pay a fee of $15, charged if tuition and housing are not paid by the required date in any given term.
Pay a 9% per annum interest.
- Why do I have an academic advising hold, I’ve already met with my advisor?
In order for your Academic Advising hold to be lifted, your advisor must put in an advising plan into your record. Please contact your major advisor or if you have not yet declared a major contact a Student Success Coordinator at email@example.com.
- Why do I have a prior balance due hold?
Anytime a student carries a balance over $20 from a previous term, this will prevent viewing grades in SISweb and prevent the release of official transcripts. Your past due balance must be paid below $20 to release this hold.
- What is a significant balance hold? SB Hold
If you balance is above $2500 from a previous term, this will put a hold on your account and prevent registration for future terms. Your balance must be under $2500 in order to be eligible to register. If you cannot pay your balance contact the collections office at 541-552-6562 or firstname.lastname@example.org
- Why can’t I register? My balance is below $2500
If you have a past due balance that is more than 6 months old, you may have an internal collections hold on your account. Your past due balance must be paid in full in order for you to be eligible to register and/or receive a transcript.
