Alaska Anthropological Association

Founded in 1974, the Association is a statewide professional organization for people working, studying and interested in all areas of northern anthropology. Find them on Facebook @AlaskaAnthropologicalAssociation.

American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS)

A multi-disciplinary professional organization that provides leadership to advance science and its application to the legal system. The objectives of the Academy are to promote professionalism, integrity, competency, education, foster research, improve practice, and encourage collaboration in the forensic sciences.

American Board of Forensic Anthropology (ABFA)

The American Board of Forensic Anthropology was incorporated in 1977 as a non-profit organization to provide, in the public interest and the advancement of science, a program of certification in forensic anthropology. In purpose and organization, the ABFA functions in much the same way as do certifying boards in various medical specialties and other scientific fields. Forensic anthropology is the application of the science of physical or biological anthropology to the legal process.

American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)

The AAAS seeks to "advance science, engineering, and innovation throughout the world for the benefit of all people."

American Association of Anthropological Genetics (AAAG)

Founded in 1994, the American Association of Anthropological Genetics (AAAG) is an educational and scientific organization whose mission is to: 1)  Promote the study of anthropological genetics, as this field is broadly defined; 2)  Facilitate communication between individuals engaged in the study of anthropological genetics; and 3)  Foster cooperation among anthropological geneticists.

American Association of Physical Anthropologists (AAPA)

The AAPA is the world's leading professional organization for physical anthropologists. Physical anthropology is a biological science that deals with the adaptations, variability, and evolution of human beings and their living and fossil relatives. Because it studies human biology in the context of human culture and behavior, physical anthropology is also a social science.

The American Schools of Oriental Research (ASOR)

The American Schools of Oriental Research is an organization whose mission is to initiate, encourage, and support research into, and public understanding of, the history and cultures of the Near East and wider Mediterranean world, from the earliest times. ASOR is apolitical and has no religious affiliation.

Dental Anthropology Association (DAA)

The Dental Anthropology Association (DAA) seeks to stimulate interest in dental anthropology and support the exchange of knowledge for those interested in the anthropological study of teeth. Dental anthropology is a subfield of biological anthropology that employs the dentitions of humans and other primates, both past and present, to answer questions of anthropological interest.
