Dr. Brook Colley

Brook Colley earned her Ph.D. in Native American Studies at the University of California, Davis and is now an Assistant Professor in SOU's Native American Studies program. Brook's teaching and research interests include Native American & First Nations film & new media, federal Indian law & policy, Oregon Tribes, intertribal relations & conflict, and community health & healing. Currently, Brook is working on a book project that investigates the emergence of the tribal casino economy and engages a problem-solving approach to intertribal conflict in the tribal casino era. In addition, she is directing and co-producing a documentary film Uneasy Remains, which explores the history of collecting and studying Indigenous human remains, specifically focused on the University of California system.
