Director Eva Skuratowicz
Dr. Eva Skuratowicz is the director of SOURCE, a position she has held since the center began in 2009. A sociologist by training, she is passionate about using a multi-disciplinary approach to applied research and evaluation. Dr. Skuratowicz collaborates with her SOU faculty colleagues to create teams that approach research questions from many different perspectives and areas of expertise. She also mentors the graduate and undergraduate student research assistants who are often part of SOURCE projects.
Researcher Karen Miller-Loessi
Karen Miller-Loessi, Ph.D., is Senior Research Associate at SOURCE. She worked as a research scientist at NIH for nine years, then joined the faculty at Arizona State University, from which she retired as Professor Emerita of Sociology. Her specialization at SOURCE is quantitative data file construction and analysis using the program SPSS. She is an expert at using SPSS syntax to perform specialized kinds of data manipulation.
Researcher Larry Gibbs
Dr. Larry Gibbs is a sociologist with training in demography. As an assistant professor of Sociology at SOU, he teaches foundational and research method courses including sociology of healthcare, quantitative data analysis, population health, and demography. His research focuses broadly on issues pertaining to the social determinants of health and health outcomes of individuals throughout the life course. Dr. Gibbs also has expertise in analyzing data from nationally representative surveys such as the National Survey of Family Growth (NSFG), the National Social Life, Health and Aging Project (NSHAP), National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent to Adult Health (ADDHEALTH), American Community Survey (ACS), and the US Census.
