Alpha Phi Sigma (APS) is the only National Criminal Justice Honor Society for Criminal Justice majors. SOU has had its own chapter of APS since 1997 and our local chapter name is Sigma Omega Upsilon.
To be eligible to apply for membership you must meet the following minimum qualifications:
1. Be a criminology and criminal justice major or minor
2. Have completed at least 60 credits
3. Have completed at least four Criminology & Criminal Justice courses
4. Have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA
4. Have at least a 3.2 GPA in all CCJ courses
5. Rank in the top 35% of your class
Each year the APS Advisor reviews student GPA data and invites qualified students to apply for membership in the honor society. A membership application is provided here, but it must be signed by the APS Advisor who confirms individual student eligibility.
