- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university (3.0 GPA in last 90 quarter hours).
- Admission to SOU Graduate Programs.
- Proficiency in computer literacy, speech, and diversity.
Passing score on Basic Skills Test (CBEST, Praxis I PPST, or Praxis CBT).
Documented experience with children, preferably those with exceptionalities.
Prerequisite course: Foundations of special education.
Highly recommended courses: Mathematics for Elementary Teachers; Foundations of Multi-Cultural Education.
