Who should consider this TESOL certificate?

Our TESOL certificate was designed for all majors at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  It is also available to community members as a stand-alone certificate from SOU.

How will this certificate prepare you to teach English to speakers of other languages?

The TESOL certificate promotes global engagement, awareness, and cultural competency through exploring the world, teaching in global contexts, and interacting with people from culturally and linguistically diverse populations. In earning this high-quality TESOL certificate, you will:

  • Examine the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse learners
  • Devise lesson plans with clear, developmentally appropriate goals
  • Learn methods for teaching reading, writing, listening, and speaking
  • Explore best practices for teaching in a linguistically and culturally diverse world
  • Engage in hands-on field experiences

What can you do with a TESOL certificate from SOU?
