Among the major interest areas represented are: Clinical and counseling psychology, group and individual behavior therapies, learning, social psychology, physiological psychology, and applied psychology.

These are among the many opportunities available to undergraduates in Psychology at SOU. As a psychology major, you can explore your area of interest while learning core scientific and theoretical principles of psychology.

Enjoy SOU's small class sizes and take advantage of the research and scholarship opportunities offered by SOU's many partnerships with local agencies and organizations. There are several program emphases offered for psychology majors, depending on particular career plans (e.g., paraprofessional programs and pre-graduate school programs, including experimental, clinical or counseling, child psychology, and organizational psychology).

Psychology courses and faculty are housed in the Education-Psychology Building which includes state-of-the-art equipment for classroom instruction, research, the students' study of learning, biofeedback, and other subspecialty areas. For Masters students, facilities also include a computerized lab, videotape equipment, and observation rooms.
