Academic Advising Tips

  • Meet with your Academic Advisors often. Establish an advising relationship early!
  • Pre-register for classes! Use the following benchmark dates to remind you to make your advising appointment for the next term: Halloween (Oct 31st), Valentine’s Day (Feb 14th), Cinco de Mayo (May 5th).  To find out when you can register for the next term, CLICK HERE. Determine registration date by how many credits you have completed (do not include in progress credits).
  • Check for holds (e.g. Measles & Revolving Charge) in your InsideSOU account in Degree Works before your registration date.
  • Use the resources around you - get involved!
