Description OLD: Students learn how to use and develop various
compositional techniques by composing short, focused works
and listening, discussing, and analyzing music. These
techniques are discovered by listening and analyzing music
from diverse traditions, ranging from Gregorian Chant to
Noh Drama, gamelan to minimalist, Bach to Cage, and Indian
to African. Prerequisite: Completion of vocal and piano
proficiencies.
