PRESENTERS
The
ADELANTE Familiy Conference will be held on
Saturday, May 21, 2022 via
ZOOM. This event will provide a forum for families in 8th - 11th grade from the southern Oregon region to meet community leaders, take part in workshops and learn about post-secondary aspirations.
Workshop Strands
Presenters should offer practical experience to help attendees increase their understanding, knowledge and skills in one of the strands below:
- Adapting to Change (Transition from Middle School to High School: socially, emotionally, and academically)
- Resiliency (Preparing and Dealing with Challenges)
- School and Life Balance (College/Career Prep & Exploration; Working while in school; Financial Preparedness: credit, savings & investments; & Mental Health/Wellness)
- Bridging the Gap: Parent Connection (Advocacy, Communication, Leadership, Mental Health, Wellness, etc)
Workshop Goals
- Enhance the skills of participants and/or provide participants with useful tools
- Actively engage the audience in the session
- Reflect diverse perspectives by offering different viewpoints or including presenter(s) from different organizations (if more than one presenter).
- Parent Sessions must be offered in Spanish
Presenting at the Conference
- 3 Session Slots
- Session Length: 45 minutes
- 4 Student Tracks (8th - 11th Grades)
- 4 Parent Tracks (8th - 11th Grades)

VOLUNTEERS
Volunteer with us and earn volunteer hours for your scholarship/practicum/etc! Duties include managing Zoom sessions (mute/unmute folks, let them in session, manage chat function), and assisting participants with the website/other technical challenges.
